We have very few guidelines for submissions. What we want is work that moves us. The format doesn’t really matter. Here’s what to know:

We are always reading poetry submissions. Send us an individual poem, a few, or your entire manuscript, if you’d like to. Chapbooks are what we want to do the most, what we can do best. If we don’t dig the whole collection but we like a poem from it, we can turn the poem into a broadside. One of the benefits of being a tight-knit small press is that we can do anything we want to do, regardless of if it will make us any money (it won’t). Unsure if you should submit it to us? Do it anyway! We love to read any and all submissions.

poetry

We are into a wide range of styles and genres when it comes to fiction or essays. From Hemingway to George Saunders, from J.R.R. Tolkien to Bukowski, mythology and philosophy and journalism all excite us. Submissions under 5000 words are ideal but not a rule.

Prose

Black and white art works best. Think linocuts and drawings. When possible, we like to add art to the contents of our books, to go along with the poems or stories. We need art for covers, sometimes, too. Submit art along with your poetry and prose, or on its own. If it is something we want to use, we will discuss with you how we can use it, in a project of your work or alongside someone else’s.
